The concept of historic hotels has been widely developed in Europe. Today, such can be considered about 600 hotels from London to Vienna, from Athens to Lisbon. The development of this direction of the hotel industry on the continent is coordinated by the Historic Hotels of Europe, which brings together 19 associations of historic hotels from different countries.
Historical hotels in the United States
On the other side of the world, the concept of historic hotels has also found its way. Historic Hotels of America is an association of historic hotels in the United States, which unites over 200 hotels. The Association is regularly replenished with new members. In order for a USA hotel to become historical, it needs to prove its status. Among the main requirements – the age of the hotel must be at least 50 years old, be included in the National Register of Historic Places or be of historical importance.
